Kollywood actors are getting the highest remuneration after Bollywood actors in India. But only a few Bollywood actors are getting astronomical fees like Salman Khan who charges between 60 crores to 65 crores per film as per Forbes. Comparatively Kollywood actors are getting a high fees. Rajinikanth is reportedly getting 70 crores for Enthiran 2. Let us check the fees of Kollywood actors here.
Rajinikanth (70 crores)
Superstar Rajinikanth is always the highest paid actor in India as he commands a huge fan base than most of his contemporaries. Even though his films ‘Lingaa’ and ‘Kochadaiyaan’ failed, he had a grand come back with ‘Kabali’ that done more than 300 crores business. Rajinikanth was paid 40 crores for ‘Kabali’ as fee apart from a share of the film’s profit that makes his total earnings of 65 crores for ‘Kabali’. Rajini is getting 70 crores for his under production film ‘2.0 – Enthiran part 2’.
Kamal Haasan (30 Crores)
Kamal is one actor who is not after box office success as he always wanted to experiment as an actor. He did had consistent commercial potboilers in 80’s and he is the first Indian actor who was paid 1 crore as remuneration. But as Kamal’s films are not completely enjoyed by ordinary audience, his market value also has came down even though he came up with a ‘Vettayadu Vilayadu, ‘Dashavatharam’ or ‘Vishwaroopam’ in between that created mass hysteria. Films like ‘Uthama Villain’ and ‘Manmadhan Ambu’ failed while ‘Thoongavanam’ was average. But Kamal can always bounce back as everyone knows his enormous talent. He was paid 25 crores in the hit ‘Papanasam’ while 30 crores for Vishwaroopam.
Vijay (42 Crores)
Vijay has been creating waves at the box office for quite a long time now except ‘Puli’. Vijay’s positive is to choose the project that shows only his strength. Besides a good fighter and dancer, he shows a flair for comedy as well. Thuppakki, Thalaivaa, Jilla, Kaththi, Puli and Theri are the last 6 release of Vijay. Thalaivaa and Puli flopped, but ‘Theri’ has once again made his market steady. He was paid 35 crores for ‘Theri’ and now getting 42 Crores for ‘Bhairavaa’. Even though his market is high in Kerala and Karnataka, he is almost nil in Andhra & Telangana region and its is not a good news if he is to do a 100 crores project.
Ajith (40 Crores)
The market value of Ajith is on the rise and the collection for his last 2 films, ‘Veeram’ and ‘Vedhalam’ is an example for the same. Usually after Rajinikanth, Ajith is commanding the highest opening in Tamil Nadu. He was paid 35 crores for the blockbuster ‘Vedhalam’. Ajith’s market is only moderate in neighbouring states Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra/Telangana region making a huge project with 80-100 crores budget a risk.
Suriya (30 Crores)
Suriya is an actor having a dedicated fan base in all the southern states that makes him a safe bet for films within a limited budget. But Suriya’s last few films 7aum Arivu, Maattrraan, Anjaan and Massu Engira Masilamani were huge flops that has brought his market down. He had the face saving ‘Singham 2’ in between and now he is banking on ‘Singham 3’ now and he was paid 30 crores for the same.
Vikram (16 Crores)
Vikrams’ dedication has created a huge fan following in all the southern states. But after ‘Anniyan’ (2005) he is having a string of flops like Majaa, Bheemaa, Kanthaswamy, Raavanan, Deiva Thirumagal, Rajapattai, Thaandavam, David and 10 Endrathukulla. Only ‘I’ and ‘Irumughan’ was on the plus side and for ‘Irumughan’ he was paid 16 crores.
Siva Karthikeyan (12 crores)
Siva’s rise to stardom is phenomenal as none of his films are flops so far. ‘Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam’, ‘Maan Karate’, ‘Kaaki Sattai’ and ‘Rajini Murugan’ were big success. The icing on the cake was ‘Remo’ that collected over 70 crores at the box office. The future projects of Siva also shows promise. The industry has approved him as the next entertainer. He was paid 12 crores for ‘Remo’.
Dhanush (10 crores)
Already created a name as a good actor and has given his biggest hit ‘Velaiilla Pattadhari’ (2014), but he is still to achieve the consistency as a star. He is good in limited budget films as it guarantee profit. His ‘Shamithabh’ with Amithabh Bachchan was a flop in Bollywood. Even though he is not having a blockbuster, his future films are showing promise. He received 10 crores for ‘Kodi’.
Karthi (10 crores)
A consistent actor within stipulated budget. Good value in Andhra & Telangana region also. Will get 13 crores including telugu rights. His ‘Kashmora’ done moderate business. Most of his films done good business and the flops did n’t occurred huge loss. Karthi’s film with Mani Rathnam might increase his market value.
Jayam Ravi (8.5 crores)
Jayam Ravi is a consistent actor within stipulated budget and his films directed by his brother Jayam Raja were huge success. He has given other successful films like ‘Peranmai’ and ‘Romeo Juliet’ as well. He is having almost nil market in other states. He gets between 7 to 8.5 crores.
Vishal (7 crores)
Have a good value in Andhra & Telangana region. Makes sure to complete film in stipulated budget, thus avoiding huge loss. Vishal takes care to have a bi-lingual version of his tamil films for Telugu audience by bringing telugu actors doing some roles in telugu version. Vishal gets 7 crores per film.
Silambarasan (STR) ( 7 crores)
Often considered as the most talented actor among his colleagues. Simbu’s releases are often getting delayed to release affecting its box office prospects that has brought his market down. In fact after ‘Vinnai Thandi Varauvaya’ he is yet to give a success and once again he is banking on Gautham Menon’s ‘Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada’ for which he has been paid 7 crores.
Vijay Sethupathi (6 crores)
The best find of Tamil films in recent times, Vijay Sethupathi has come a long way from being one among a junior artiste. He has proved as a performer and a bankable star of Tamil films. He makes sure to complete his films within limited budget that gives a good return. Once the film is over budget, he knows that film might fall flat as happened to ‘Iraivi’. Vijay Sethupathi gets 6 crores per film.
Dinesh (2 crores)
Dinesh is a safe actor of Tamil films as he makes sure to have his films completed within stipulated budget. Most of his films have done plus business.
Nayanthara (4 crores)
Labelled as Lady Superstar, having a huge fan base in all southern states. Known as a performer as well and most of her films have done good business at the box office. She is having good market in all southern states. She is charging 4 crores per films and gets 5 crores in Telugu.
Anushka Shetty (4-5 crores)
Anushka Shetty is still considered as a box office prospect in the right team as she has proved it with films like ‘Bahubali’ and ‘Rudramma Devi’. Her dedication in ‘Inji Iduppazhagi’ was much appreciated. She is having a consistent fan base all over. ‘Bahubali-the conclusion’ might be the icing on the cake. She gets between 4-5 crores every film.
Kajal Agarwal (2-3 crores)
Often considered as a glamour girl in all films of Tamil as well as Telugu languages. Gets movies opposite top stars and charges, 3 crores in Telugu and 2 crores in Tamil.
Samantha (1.5 – 2 crores)
Another actress considered as a glamour girl, charges 2 crores in Telugu and 1.5 crores in Tamil languages. Part of many big projects.
Shruthi Haasan (1.5 – 2.5 crores)
Kamal Haasan’s daughter, yet to create a name as an actress, but considered as a glamorous actress. Good dancer, part of many successful films. Charges 1.5 crores in Tamil as well as Telugu. also gets 2.5 crores in Bollywood
Trisha Krishnan (1.5 crores)
The shelf life of Trisha is amazing as she crossed 15 years in films as a leading actress. Even though hit films are rare for her nowadays, she is a part of many big projects. but gets 1 crore per film and 1.5 crores for big films.
